FAQ’s

I’ve never taught Pilates before, can I still attend?

We love this for you. It means you can learn better teaching habits from the very beginning.

As a new teacher, start with Matwork so you can build a solid foundation of Pilates exercises first. From here, you’ll be able to complete Reformer and finally your Studio Apprenticeship.

I have some complex injuries, can I still attend?

Yes, you can. We work with your allied health practitioners to get the best movement care for you. We are used to working with complex injuries and are honoured for you to put your trust in us.

What industry recognition do you have?

We are currently working with AUSactive for formal course recognition in Australia. Watch this space!

When do I do my practicum hours?

Your practicum hours (observation, co-teaching & practice teaching) all happen at a studio of your choice. This is outside of lecture times so that you have the chance to put into practice what you have learned.

Why do I need practicum hours?

Completing your practicum hours is the difference between learning the lecture content & applying the content in a real-life scenario. All your educators are experienced in PTT and we see a huge difference in those who do their hours and those who don’t. If you want to be employed at a studio as a highly competent and knowledgable teacher, we suggest you complete your practicum hours. They make a huge difference!

I’m pregnant, can I still come to this training?

While you are pregnant, make sure you speak with our educators before starting your training as we can provide exercise adjustments especially for you. However, there is no stopping you learning your teaching and communication skills!

Can I talk with someone before I start?

Yes, we highly suggest booking a discovery call so that we can get to know you and talk through any questions and hesitations you may have. Email us at hello@slomethodpilatesteachertraining.com to book a discovery call.
